Privacy Policy 

 Compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and Québec's Law 25.

Your privacy is a priority. This policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, stored, and shared in the context of psychological services. 

As a psychologist licensed in both Ontario and Québec, I comply with provincial and federal privacy legislation. 

2. What personal information is collected? 

  • Your name, date of birth, contact information 

  • Relevant medical and psychological history 

  • Clinical notes, assessments, treatment goals 

  • Billing and insurance details (if applicable) 

3. Why is this information used? 

  • To provide personalized psychological services 

  • For clinical and administrative follow-up 

  • To comply with legal and ethical obligations 

  • To communicate with you when necessary 

4. How is your information protected? 

  • Your data is stored electronically using secure platforms: 

    • Microsoft 365 Business / Outlook (communication) 

    • OWL Practice (clinical records) 

    • Zoom (secure telepsychology) 

    • Stripe (online payments, PCI DSS compliant) 

Access to your information is limited to authorized individuals only. 

Retention periods: 

  • Québec: 5 years after the last session 

  • Ontario: 10 years after the last session or 10 years after the client turns 18, whichever is longer 

5. When is your information shared? 

Your information is shared only with your explicit consent, except when required by law: 

  • Imminent risk of harm to self or others 

  • Risk of harm or abuse involving a child 

  • Court order 

  • Request from a professional order (e.g., OPQ or CPBAO) 

6. Your rights 

You have the right to: 

  • Access or receive a copy of your file 

  • Request corrections to your information 

  • Withdraw consent for certain uses (within legal limits) 

  • File a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been violated 

  • Request deletion of your data where legally permitted
